“Vôo”, as my band likes to call it, is a special song for me – inspired from my year playing and working with Denney Goodhew and the Cornish Ensemble IV (later evolving into the Qhromatics). Once, over a period of intense rehearsals, our beloved bassist (Nate Omdal) fell ill. I wrote this piece for Nate as a sort of, “Get well soon” song. Nate’s spirit animal (which everyone was assigned in the group) was the owl, so the title is “Flight of the Owl” in Portuguese.
